2nd Quarter Global M&A Activity

NEW YORK – Second quarter M&A activity slowed as sovereign debt worried investors, as both deal value and volume turned down 16.1% and 5.7% respectively according to Merrill Corporation.

Pharma and Medical and Biotech sectors lead value deals. Synthes was aquired by Johnson and Johnson for $21.2 bn USD, and Nycomed was aquired by Takeda for $13.7 bn USD.
